Paul DeMotte Tribute

Special$20Corps$204Paul passed away.  It all started in1972 with Paul.   When his mother Neita decided to send her son to a brand new school on a nearly condemned, dilapidated chicken farm 20 miles from their home in Roslindale, the Life Experience School seed was planted.  Riding to and from school in a late model Ford pickup truck driven by Lewis, Paul got hooked on being free and having fun… it was our version of Woodstock. He loved getting out of that stuffy special ed classroom and into nature with farm animals and people who knew how to learn by doing things enjoyable and important to them.  Over a period of 40 years, this guy was beyond belief.  He is known affectionately as “the ladies man” —  just ask Meg, Ruthanne or Phylis.  Paul lived with his brothers and his loving dad George who tended to him like his late mother Neita did for so many years.

Defying the doctors who said soon after his birth, he should be institutionalized and wouldn’t live to see his 16th birthday, Paul lived a fun-filled, half a century of love and support. He was to so many, one of the most remarkable spirits they ever met; he really was.   Paul passed away on Mother’s Day 2013.  Perfect timing, as he was Neita’s pride and joy.
